Undergraduate Assistants

Hi, I am Gavin Oliver and I am a senior studying psychology and math with a minor in philosophy.  I am currently running participants for an experiment I created last year.  This experiment is called how recent experiences influence memory and it looks at how lying repeatedly about recent experiences can influence one’s memory measured via the DRM paradigm.  I will be graduating after this academic year and am applying to graduate schools right now for the Fall of 2022.  I hope to continue improving the experiment I have now and make slight alterations to see how the data changes.  In general, I hope to get my Ph.D. in cognitive psychology and specifically do research on memory and the various theories engulfing memory.  I want to become a professor and do research (though I’d also like to teach as well) after I get my Ph.D. since this has been my dream since I was a wee lad.

My name is Abbi Byrne and I am a senior majoring in psychology. I am from Waukesha Wisconsin. Here at Iowa State I am part of the executive team for Psych club and a member of Alpha Phi. In my free time I enjoy going on runs and working out, spending time on the lake, and just being with friends and family. After I graduate from Iowa State, I plan on going to grad school to receive my Ph.D and pursue a career as a sport psychologist.

My name is Brianna Baker and I am a transfer junior at Iowa State. I am pursuing my undergraduate in Psychology, and I plan to continue on to get my graduate degree in Behavioral Neuroscience. I currently work part time as a CNA at Green Hills in Ames, and I am a member of Psych Club and SALT.
